| Interviewing
Tips
Always be
prepared.
Have some basic
knowledge of the company and the job you are applying for.
* Dress
appropriately.
* Arrive
on time or a few minutes early.
*
Do not chew gum.
* Have
prepared questions to ask the interviewer.
Remember that your
body language is an important part of the interview.
If you fill out
an application make sure your information is correct. Do not lie on an
application.
Make sure
your past dates of employment are correct. Most companies will perform
reference checks.
* Keep
your answers to questions short and to the point. Don't elaborate on anything
unless you are asked.
* Greet
your interviewer with a smile and firm handshake.
*
Sit upright when interviewed and try to keep eye contact.
*
Don't make any negative comments about past employers.
*
Your first interview is not the time to ask about salary, benefits, vacations
etc. If you are
asked about salary, tell them what you earned in the past. Don't lock yourself
out of a
job by demanding too much money.
To
be enthusiastic and confident is encouraged but donft over does it!
